Pierce County is seeking interested citizens from the unincorporated areas of the County to serve on the Pierce County Board of Adjustment.
The Board of Adjustment hears requests for and issues variances from the Pierce County Zoning Ordinance, hears requests for conditional use permits in the St. Croix Riverway District, and hears appeals of decisions made by the Zoning Administrator and land Management Administrator. The Board typically meets monthly or on an as needed basis.
Applicants must be a resident of Pierce County, must live in an unincorporated area and cannot live in the same town as other Board of Adjustment Members.
Appointees will serve a three year term, and are eligible to be re-appointed to additional terms. Per diems and mileage are paid. The Appointments are made by the County Board Chairperson, and are subject to confirmation by the County Board. Applicants should submit a letter of interest setting forth their qualifications by Friday, August 1, 2008 to:
