POSITION OPENING
Engineering Technician
River Falls Municipal Utilities has an opening for an Engineering Technician. This position reports to the General Manager. A technical degree in the field of Civil Engineering, Surveying, Construction or a related program is required. GIS experience is required with experience in ArcGIS, Microsoft Access, dBase and Excel preferred. Utility experience preferred (water, sewer, electric). This position requires interaction with the public, contractors, and other city departments. Ability to read maps and diagrams, understand permits, easements and right-of-ways, and perform inspections/locates of utility facilities is essential. This position includes a variety of work indoors and outside. Wisconsin residency and a valid Wisconsin driver's license are required. Employment is subject to background investigation, including past drug and alcohol testing records.
River Falls is located in northwestern Wisconsin and offers small town living with close access to the St. Paul/Minneapolis metro area. River Falls Municipal Utilities offers an excellent salary and liberal fringe benefits package. Per the 2005-2007 AFSCME Union Contract, the 2007 start wage is $21.02/hour.
