Prescott Police Report

January 7

9:20 a.m. Bruce Swanson, owner of the Steamboat Inn in Prescott, reported that someone had broken out windows on his van which was parked in front of the restaurant. Two pool balls, #13 and #14, were found inside the van. The pool balls are from the pool table at the Pilot House Bar in Prescott.

January 9

9:00 a.m. Jonathan D. Bendorf of 620 Borner Street in Prescott reported that twice in the last couple of months his vehicle had been broken into. On November 17, someone stole a flashlight from the truck and scattered his work equipment all over the driveway and spray painted the vehicle. On January 4, all the air was let out of his tires and his recyclables were scattered all over the yard.

8:56 p.m. David Alan Anderson of Red Wing was cited for speeding on Jefferson Street at Kinnickinnic.

January 10

7:20 a.m. Peter A. Apodaca of Coon Rapids, Minn. was cited for speeding on Jefferson at Kinnickinnic.

8:45 a.m. Melissa Anne Taylor of Prescott was cited for speeding on Dexter Street and Highway 10.

12:25 p.m. Jeanne Marie Arlich of Cottage Grove called the police department to protest a parking ticket she received while parked in a handicap zone on Broad Street. She claimed she didn't know it was reserved for handicapped. (Officer's were contacted on a citizen's complaint about the parking violation and couldn't locate the driver.) Arlich stated that she was in the antique store and officers should have located her there.

5:30 p.m. Lisa Jean Niebur of Hastings was cited for speeding on Highway 10 at Lake Street.

January 11

2:09 a.m. Officers observed Mark Steven Jacobson of Hastings run the stop sign on Broad Street at Cherry. Officers attempted to stop Jacobson, but the vehicle headed into Minnesota and attempted to elude Prescott officers. As the officer attempted to get in front of the absconder, the suspect turned off his headlights, stopped his car and took off on foot. The Prescott officer gave chase and captured Jacobson when he fell down in the woods. He was cited for the stop sign violation and driving after suspension in Wisconsin. He was turned over to the Washington County Sheriff's Dept. for driving while under the influence.

8:00 a.m. Tina Jean Reinert of Hastings was cited for driving with expired license on her vehicle.

10:00 a.m. Paul Martin Walser of Edina was cited for speeding on Broad Street at Kinnickinnic.

10:41 a.m. Stephanie Pedersen of 541 Lynn Street in Prescott reported that sometime last night someone threw a large rock through her car window and stole a brown purse containing a large number of credit cards, ID cards and $50 cash.

December 10

Joseph D. Young, 17, of Prescott pled no contest to the charges of failure to wear a seat belt and driver's license violations. He was fined $161.

Brent G. Norby, 17, of Prescott pled guilty to speeding. He was fined $200.60.

Richard E. O'Brien, 44, of Prescott pled no contest to hunting game before hours. He was fined $208.40.

Eric P. Keeler, 25, of Prescott pled no contest to speeding. Fined $125.90.

Paul D. Kittelson, 19, of Prescott pled no contest to a seat belt violation. He was fined $10.

Kimberly M. Dohrer, 27, of Prescott pled no contest to a seat belt violation. Fined $10.

Mitzi E. Dohrer, 21, of Prescott pled no contest operator failure to wear a seat belt. Fined $10.

December 17

Jeremy S. Schoeder, 23, of Prescott pled guilty of operating while under the influence. His license was revoked, he must submit to alcohol assessment and was fined $741.50.

December 18

Tanya L. Rooney, 24, of Prescott pled guilty top operating while intoxicated. She was sentenced to license revocation, alcohol assessment and a $803 fine.

Gregory S. Gray, 17, of Prescott pled guilty to hit and run. He was fined $457.

Brice A. Grothe, 21, of River Falls was found guilty of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was fined $146.50 and had his license revoked for six months.

December 21

Hans J. Rudolph, of Beldenville was found guilty of disorderly conduct. Fined $197.

December 27

Jesse Monson, 17, of River Falls was charged with theft. Jury trial scheduled for February 8.

Adam K. Koopman, 22, of Ellsworth was found guilty of possession of marijuana. Fined $200.60.

Gary Ross Gilbertson, 35, of Bay City was charged with disorderly conduct. Pretrial conference scheduled for January 28.

January 2

Gregory D. Cederholm, 34, of River Falls pled guilty to battery. The court agreed to withhold adjudication of guilt and approved a deferred prosecution agreement.

Scott D. Harer, 31, of Prescott was charged with two counts of issuing worthless checks. Plea hearing set for January 24.

Francisco Juarez, 19, of Phoenix, Arizona was found guilty of possession with intent to distribute over 2500 grams of marijuana. He was sentenced to two years in state prison and 5 years of extended supervision.

Clyde M. Palmer, 23, of Hammond failed to appear on the charge of sexual gratification with an animal. Warrant issued.

William D. Lee, 23, of Ellsworth was charged with two narcotic charges including intent to distribute. Pretrial scheduled for January 28.

Alexandra K. Glass, 17, of Red Wing was charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Pretrial scheduled for January 28.

Leah M. Byers, 19, of Ellsworth was charged with being party to unlawfully delivering narcotics. Pretrial set for February 28.

January 3

Steven D. Hirman, 30, of Ellsworth failed to appear on a disorderly charge. Warrant issued.

Timothy M. Hudak, 22, of Prescott was found guilty of criminal damage to property. He was sentenced to one year probation, $1403.32 restitution, alcohol assessment and a $75 fine.

Jenny L. Windsor, 27, of Menomonie was found guilty of uttering a forged check. She was sentenced to three years probation, $648.12 in restitution, fined $95 and must submit a DNA sample.

January 7

Jody E. Betterley, 31, of Prescott was charged with state disorderly conduct. Jury trial set for February 11.

David P. Mitchell, 21, of St. Paul was found guilty of disorderly conduct. Fined $95.15.

Martin P. Cuccia Nilsen, 18, of River Falls was charged with possession of marijuana. Plea hearing set for March 4.

Daniel J. Schwarz, 19, of River Falls was charged with battery. Jury trial set for February 14.

Bradley G. Reitmann, 26, of Goodhue, Minnesota was charged with burglary and two counts of theft. Jury trial scheduled for February 22.

Jeffrey D. Wallentine, 30, of Ellsworth was charged as a felon in possession of a firearm and illegally possessing a deer carcass. Motion hearing scheduled for January 24.

Joseph J. Harwell, 19, of Ellsworth was charged with possession of marijuana. Pretrial set for January 28.

John E. Chinander, 62, of Prescott was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (sixth offense) and operating a motor vehicle with a prohibited blood alcohol level. Both counts carry penalties of fines from $2400 to $8000 and jail time of not less than six months and up to five years. Motion hearing set for February 15.

Xeko Z. Gaylor, 24, no known address was charged with operating a motor vehicle without the owners permission. He had previously entered a not guilty plea and filed a request to change to not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect. The request was denied and a court date is to be set.

Dennis C. Ross, 30, of Cottage Grove was found guilty of disorderly conduct. Fined $145.15.

Ryan E. Heesch, 18, of Red Wing was charged with possession of marijuana. Pretrial scheduled for January 28.

Bruce G. Duffney, 45, of Prescott was charged with battery. Jury trial set for February 22.

Joseph A. Perry, 19, of Hastings failed to appear for possession of drug paraphernalia. Warrant issued.

Terry Bauer, 28, of Elmwood failed to appear for criminal trespass to a dwelling and two counts of criminal damage to property. Warrant issued.

Dale W. Niemi, 41, of Cottage Grove failed to appear on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Warrant issued.

Christopher R Rosenberg, 17, of New Richmond was charged with obstructing an officer. Pretrial set for January 28.

Dana M. Johnson, 19, of Afton failed to appear for issuing worthless checks. Warrant issued.

January 9

Travis W. Kouba, 20, of Alma was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Brent T. Whitaker, 30, of River Falls was charged with state disorderly conduct. Plea hearing set for January 23.

David A. Anway, 34, of Bay City was charged with disorderly conduct. Court trial set for January 23.

 


Town of Clifton

Board of Appeals

The Board of Appeals for the Town of Clifton will meet on Thursday, January 24, 2002, 7:30 p.m. at the Clifton Town Hall. Lowell McCann will be seeking approval for a variance in order to build a garage on a non-conforming structure.

Planning Commission

The Town of Clifton Planning Commission will meet at 8 p.m. Monday, January 21, at the Clifton Town Hall.

AGENDA: 1) Minutes, 2) Building Permits, 3) 2 lot CSM for Wayne Bredahl, 4) Other business that properly comes before the Planning Commission. The Town Board may attend for purposes of gathering information.

Special Meeting Notice

Town of Clifton

A special meeting will be held January 24, 2002, 7:30 p.m. at the Clifton Town Hall to approve a special permit in order to stabilize an erosion problem on the property of Paul Moseby, Section 26, Town of Clifton.
